Overview

Cruise along the Nile on the elegant and modern Steigenberger Regency.

A voyage on this spacious 236ft ship combines comfort and elegance with Egypt's fascinating ancient history.

With a guest list of 104 guests, the atmosphere on board is friendly and intimate - and with an excellent crew-to-guest ratio, you know you'll enjoy impeccable service on board.

Life while sailing on the Nile is slow and relaxing. During the heat of the day, you can cool off in the refreshing pool, put your feet up on the sun loungers, or perhaps pamper yourself with a massage from one of our on-board team. In the evening, head to the bar for cocktails with newfound friends while discussing the mysteries of Ancient Egypt or simply take in the views from the panoramic windows.

Complete the experience in our on-board restaurant, where our chefs will introduce you to local flavours as you watch the towns and villages that line the riverbanks glide by. Enjoy buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner with a mix of international and Egyptian cuisine.

Gratuities

Giving a gratuity is entirely at your discretion, so we have not included these in your holiday cost, and we don't add it as a set percentage.

If you would like to tip the staff, a good guideline is to give €8-12 per person per day should you feel that is appropriate.

If you do choose to give a gratuity, there will usually be an envelope is left in your cabin on the final evening. This is for you to be able include any tips, and you can then drop it off at reception the following morning. The tips are divided equally between the crew.

Should you also wish to give a gratuity directly to your Riviera Travel Cruise Director and Concierge, this is also at your discretion.

Enrichment

Egypt is entombed with magic and mystery. And there’s no better way to experience its ancient wonders than cruising along the mystical River Nile.

A journey of intrigue awaits on a Nile river cruise. We will visit some of the world-famous landmarks you love, as well as some that only the locals know about. As we float effortlessly down the Nile, witness the infamous man-made statues untouched by time at Kom Ombo Temple, walk in the footsteps of pharaohs at Philae Temple of Isis, and marvel at Edfu Temple, one of the largest in Egypt.

Excursions

No other place on Earth evokes mystery and wanderlust like Egypt. And there's no better way to experience this ancient and fascinating country than on a cruise along the Nile.

Delve into a civilisation that began over 5,000 years ago, exploring mighty monuments, once-hidden tombs and temples dedicated to strange and enigmatic gods. Starting in the capital city, Cairo - a fascinating fusion of Western, Islamic and Christian cultures - we'll explore many of the famous landmarks including the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum. Then board the Steigenberger Regency and relax as we navigate the majestic Nile River stopping at some of Egypt's most beloved sites. Sail to Edfu Temple, known for its rich cultural traditions, and witness gods immortalised in sandstone at Kom Ombo Temple and Abu Simbel. And carry on to Aswan - home to the High Dam and Philae Temple of Isis.

Some of the highlights on our Nile cruises may include:

  • Seeing the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx.
  • Visiting important museums that show the breadth of Egyptian history, from the Coptic Museum to the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum.
