MS Vasco de Gama

Overview

Named after the famous Portuguese navigator who discovered the route to India, MS Vasco da Gama sails on the Douro. Passengers can admire the unique landscapes, sculpted by nature and shaped by man, along an enchanted valley where the famous port wine is produced.

Completely renovated in 2014, this intimate-sized ship measures 75 meters long and 11.40 meters wide. It can accommodate 142 passengers in 71 cabins spread over three decks. The size of each cabin is between 11 m2 and 12.50 m2, offering amenities and providing guests with all the comforts they need during their stay. The majority of cabins are located on the upper deck and have large panoramic windows. Those on the middle and main decks have large windows. The decoration is stylish and its atmosphere, both elegant and friendly, and in perfect harmony with its surroundings. Located on the main deck, the restaurant offers a delicate cuisine in a refined setting, where large windows allow guests to fully enjoy the panorama. The lounge / bar with dance floor, located on the middle deck, welcomes passengers during evening entertainment. A swimming pool and comfortable sun loungers are provided on the sun deck, with a large shaded area, the ideal place to relax and admire the surrounding landscapes.

Accommodation

All cabins are located above the water level and offer panoramic views of the landscape. Windows (portholes or large windows depending on the ship or deck.) They are equipped with a toilet, shower and washbasin. Towels and shower gel as well as shampoo are provided.

Very comfortable, they have many amenities: flat screen television, hairdryer, safe and plenty of storage space.

Depending on the ship, our cabins have 2 twin beds, a large bed or 2 separable beds. The voltage on board is 220 V. Some boats have cabins specifically equipped for people with reduced mobility.

Our cabins are air conditioned and have a thermostat to adjust the temperature of heating and air conditioning.

Tipping habits vary according to the country and culture. At CroisiEurope, tips are collected globally at the end of the trip and shared equally among all the crew members.

This attention from our passengers allows us to show that they have appreciated the quality of the services and the attention that was given to them during the cruise, at all levels.

How much should I leave? A tip of between £5 and £10 per day and per person is an average, but each passenger is free to give what he or she wishes. An envelope is left in your cabin during your last evening on board. Put it in the box provided for this purpose at the ship's reception desk when you disembark.
