Overview

American Splendor allows guests to experience the nostalgia of classic paddlewheeler travel, while enjoying perfect comfort and the most modern amenities.

The world's newest paddlewheeler, American Splendor features serene color palettes, luxurious textiles and linens, comfortable furniture throughout, and sophisticated artwork and flourishes. From the staterooms and suites to the lounges and dining rooms, the décor pays homage to the legendary Mississippi River..

On board, guests can relax in the casual ambiance, while admiring panoramic views of the passing scenery, from their stateroom private balcony, one of the spacious lounges, or in the elegant restaurant. Our midship lounges offer the perfect place to read a book or complete a puzzle. The Fitness Center on the 4th deck features an elliptical and exercise bikes for some added exercise.

With only 180 guests, fellow travelers will quickly become new friends sharing experiences at the evening cocktail hour or while conversing on the sun deck. After dinner, enjoy a cocktail and musical performance in the River Lounge.

Accommodation

American Cruise Lines staterooms, most at more than 300 square feet, are by far the largest in their class. The majority of staterooms have spacious private balconies and feature a roomy private hotel-like bath and a large, opening picture window, allowing you spectacular up-close views of landscape, ports, river and sea.

Each stateroom is tastefully designed with your comfort and convenience in mind and includes the following amenities: Twin or King-sized bed, twice-daily stateroom service, individual climate control system, spacious closet and four-drawer dresser, dual night tables, alarm clock, writing desk & stationery, remote-controlled satellite TV, USB ports and mini-refrigerator, in-room single serve coffee brewer (with coffee and tea pods), shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and hair dryer (with grab rails in every bathroom).

Veranda Suite

Veranda Suites have 445 sq. ft. of space with a living and eating area. Floor-to-ceiling sliding doors lead to a private balcony with a table and chairs. The living space has a TV and refrigerator that is restocked daily. Each night “suite treats” are delivered and a bottle of premium champagne is delivered one night during your voyage. The sleeping area has a king-size bed but can be configured with two twin beds. The bathroom has a large shower, and is equipped with toiletries, hairdryer, plush towels and robes. Storage space in each Veranda Suite includes a wardrobe, full-size dresser, and desk with drawers. Each suite also has individual climate control, USB charging ports, a safe, and complimentary WiFi.

Premium Balcony

Each 328 sq. ft. Premium Balcony stateroom offers large floor-to-ceiling glass doors which lead to a comfortable balcony with a table and chairs. Each room has a king-size bed but can be configured with two twin beds. Premium Balcony rooms have a full bathroom equipped with large shower, toiletries, hairdryer, and plush towels. Storage space in each room includes a wardrobe, full-size dresser, under-bed storage, and desk drawers. Each room also has individual climate control, TV, USB charging ports, and complimentary WiFi.

Deluxe Balcony 1

Each 304 sq. ft. Deluxe Balcony stateroom offers large floor-to-ceiling glass doors which lead to a comfortable balcony with a table and chairs. Each room has a king-size bed but can be configured with two twin beds. Deluxe Balcony rooms have a full bathroom equipped with large shower, toiletries, hairdryer, and plush towels. Storage space in each room includes a wardrobe, full-size dresser, under-bed storage, and desk drawers. Each room also has individual climate control, TV, USB charging ports, and complimentary WiFi.

Standard Balcony

Standard Balcony staterooms measure 304 sq. ft. Each room offers one king-sized with the possibility to reconfigure for two twin beds for double occupancy. The room includes nightstands, a dresser, a closet with hangers, a desk with a chair, and a room-to-room telephone. There is a single-serve coffee brewer with coffee and tea pods provided, and an alarm clock with a USB port. Standard Balcony staterooms also have their own climate control system and features floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that open to a private balcony. The bathroom has a full-size shower, toiletries, a hairdryer, plush towels, and grab rails.

Standard Waterview

Each 290 sq. ft. Standard Waterview stateroom offers large picture windows with water views. King or two twin bed configurations are available. Standard Waterview rooms have a full bathroom equipped with large shower, toiletries, hairdryer, and plush towels. Storage space in each room includes a wardrobe, full-size dresser, under-bed storage, and desk drawers. Each room also has individual climate control, TV, USB charging ports, and complimentary WiFi.

Single Balcony

Our dedicated single staterooms are 230 sq. ft. of space. Each room includes a floor-to-ceiling glass door leading to a full-size private balcony with a table and chairs. Single Balcony staterooms have a full-size bed, and a full bathroom equipped with large shower, toiletries, hairdryer, and plush towels. Storage space in each room includes a wardrobe, full-size dresser, under-bed storage, and desk drawers. Each room also has individual climate control, TV, USB charging ports, and complimentary WiFi.

Single Waterview

Our dedicated Single Waterview staterooms are 203 sq. ft. of space. Each room includes large picture windows with water views. Gratuities

American Cruise Lines is All-Inclusive and the per person fare includes passage, dining service, snacks, complimentary cocktail parties, entertainment on board the ship, onboard gratuities, as well as port charges and fees. Fares do not include all shore excursions (unless otherwise noted).

Entertainment

American Cruise Lines features various oversized lounges aboard each of its ships, including internet stations and a well-stocked library. Many decks are available to guests, including a lounge deck and observation deck. Binoculars, guides, and additional reading materials are available throughout the ships.

To further enhance your cruising experience, American Cruise Lines has various forms of entertainment from onboard entertainers to local experts and historians with knowledge of American history, ecology, and the local culture. There are activities, lectures, presentations, and discussions that bring each region to life. Depending on the itinerary, onboard activities include Art Classes, App-titude Classes (Tech Made Easy), Cooking Demonstrations, Fitness, Trivia and more.

Sky Lounge

Located at the aft of the ship, this elegantly designed lounge provides the perfect ambiance for socializing and admiring the scenery while enjoying a refreshing cocktail. The large windows surrounding the room brings the outdoors in.

Sun Deck

Take a deep breath of fresh air and immerse yourself in the breathtaking 360-degree view of the passing scenery from this ideal setting. Savor the gentle breeze and scenic views while reclining on a comfortable lounge chair. Unwind with your favorite book, practice at the putting green, or simply bask in the serenity of your surroundings.

The Study

For those seeking a quiet respite, this mid-ship study offers an ideal space to immerse yourself in a good book, engage in a friendly card game, or tackle a challenging puzzle. Sink into a plush armchair, surrounded by elegant decor that sets the stage for relaxation and rejuvenation.

River Lounge

This lounge at the bow is a bustling hub of activity during the day, perfect for casual conversations and mingling with fellow passengers. In the evening, it is transformed into a lively entertainment venue, promising memorable nights filled with laughter and camaraderie.

Midship Lounge

This midship lounge offers a peaceful enclave for reading a favorite book, having a quiet conversation, or simply reflecting on your adventures and those still to come. Paddlewheel Lounge

Located at the aft of the ship, this comfortable and well-appointed lounge provides the perfect ambiance for socializing and admiring the scenery while enjoying a refreshing cocktail. The sizable skylight overhead and large windows surrounding the room brings the outdoors in.

American Cruise Lines has over 400 shore excursions which are meticulously planned and supported by personal guides who are well-versed in each region.
